In RDSL, unless otherwise indicated, all items are measured on a scale of 1 = strongly disagree to 4 = strongly agree, with no neutral response offered but recorded when insisted upon by respondents. RDSL responses were recoded to correspond with Add Health. Analytically, items were reverse-coded as necessary such that higher responses indicate less favorable attitudes toward childbearing and more favorable attitudes toward contraception.
