Abstract
En Cuatro Patas, part of the Pacific Standard Time Festival: Live Art LA/LA and translated as On All Fours, redefines the boundaries of the human through the animalistic, arthropod, subhuman, and transhuman. It is curated by Nao Bustamante and Xandra Ibarra, known as La Chica Boom, two artists who utilize ironic avant-garde, spectacle-driven kitsch performance aesthetics in their own right. Bustamante and Ibarra very specifically curated the performances to explore and embody the limits of the human in relation to the Latinx body, which interestingly pushes against and beyond queerness by evoking the prefix trans as Latinx transhuman.
