Restorative Posters: Representing Justice Visually

Restorative Posters is a project generated by a Chicago-based organization, Project NIA. Founded and directed by Mariame Kaba, Project NIA offers a new way of thinking about crime and violence using principles of participatory community justice—often called restorative or transformative justice—which has been shown to meet the needs of victims, reduce recidivism, and improve satisfaction with the legal system. Mariame Kaba is an organizer, educator, and curator. Her work focuses on ending violence, dismantling the prison industrial complex, transformative justice, and supporting youth leadership development.
