The Bank of Italy has published on its website an updated version of Albert Ando's bibliography, to honor his memory on the twentieth anniversary of his death. The bibliography is preceded by two passionate and stimulating essays: “In Memory of Albert Ando, an Introduction,” by Ignazio Visco, governor of the Bank of Italy, and “Albert Ando's Legacy to Economic Research at the Bank of Italy,” by Sergio Nicoletti Altimari, Stefano Siviero, and Daniele Terlizzese. Both essays testify to the close professional relationship and friendship between the authors and Ando.

The anniversary also offered the opportunity to publish on the same website Ando's 1959 PhD dissertation, A Contribution to the Theory of Economic Fluctuations and Growth, which, as Visco emphasizes in his introduction to the bibliography, states in nuce many of the themes that became prominent in Ando's later academic and consulting careers, as regards both theoretical and empirical research...
