Isaac Blacksin is a postdoctoral fellow in the Society of Fellows and the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California. An ethnographer of war reportage, Isaac has conducted fieldwork with media workers from Iraq to Afghanistan, where he focuses on the practice and poetics of journalism, militarism in the greater Middle East, and the politics of representation. His work has appeared in Media, War, and Conflict; Applied Journalism and Media Studies; Viewpoint Magazine; Kyoto Journal; and HAU: Journal of Ethnographic Theory.
